Analysis of Resident Evil

While looking at reviews of resident evil and watching game play on the playstation 1,  I noticed that it was a high tension game driven by gore, dialogue, and horror music. I remember playing this game and being terrified after playing it because the music in story mode made it seem like a movie. Also the sound fx in this game were really good in the sense that you heard footstep ambience depending on where they were, and also doors closing  and creaking which made it more realistic and fun to play. i think that over time the games gradually got better as far as effects are concerned but the direction of story line began to degrade due to its over the top supernatural appeal. I'm not really a huge gamer but i do remember this game standing out because it was ridiculously scary and what made it scary was all of the different sounds

The games that I researched were cruisin, Frankie goes to hollywood, exed exes, and wrecking crew. i noticed that all of the video games that i viewed all had linear sounds. mostly all of the audio was straight through . the audio in wrecking crew was very chopped and none of the steps were actually footstep sounds instead they were made from collecting coins. the others also were composed of   linear audio as well
